IN LIEU OF FLOWERS
Frequently, when loved ones die, family
members encourage donations to various organizations in their memory, in
lieu of flowers. Donations to St. Michael's Parish in memory of loved
ones, is another way to honor the lives and faith of those who have gone
before us. All donations are gratefully received and acknowledged.
May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
BAPTISMAL
PREPARATION
If you are a registered member of St. Michael's Parish and are
expecting a child in the near future, please plan to attend the Baptismal
Preparation Program in our Parish. Since there are so many decisions
to make concerning baptizing a child, these should not be made in
haste. Parents are urged to contact the Parish Office at least four
months BEFORE the birth of their baby to discuss baptismal plans.
Parents and Sponsors (Godparents) are required to attend instruction
before their child is baptized.
NEW
PARISHIONERS
Anyone
who is new to the Smithfield area should register with the parish by
calling or emailing the Rectory at 231-5119 or
info@stmikegeo.necoxmail.com
Registration
must be complete in order to receive parish mailings, register for
sacramental programs and Religious Formation classes, or to receive
sponsor certificates.

PLANNING
A WEDDING
Marriage has been raised by Christ to the dignity of a Sacrament.
To be married in the Catholic Church means far more than to have the
wedding ceremony in a Church building. To be married in the presence
of God's people means a man and a woman are joined together in a lasting
bond of love.
If you are engaged and are planning a wedding at St. Michael's, you should
contact the parish office as soon as possible. Remember, wedding
plans should be made about one year in advance.
